A Unique and Luxurious Residential Design by Yu-Sheng Hsu and Yu-Ting Tsai

The Chinese Brush Flow residence stands out for its use of unique materials and exquisite craftsmanship. The light food bar area and kitchen wall cabinet backboard feature stunning ruby stone materials, while the delicate lines of the structure are made of rose metal, complementing the colors of the stone. The master bedroom entrance is adorned with hanging chandeliers and marble block-jointed flooring, creating a multi-level feel for the resting space. The selected materials throughout the residence, including rose gold and stone, maintain a consistent and luxurious aesthetic.

The realization of this design involved the use of various materials, such as marble, ruby, granite, artificial light stone board, tiles, stainless titanium-plates, copper strip, steel-brushed solid veneer, black mirror, cloth, synthetic leather, wallpaper, and latex paint. These materials were carefully chosen to enhance the overall design concept and create a cohesive and visually striking space.

Spanning over square meters, the Chinese Brush Flow residence encompasses the entryway, living room, kitchen, open-ended bar section, inner kitchen, family room, maid room, public toilets, and four studio-style living rooms. Each area is thoughtfully designed to optimize functionality and aesthetics, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious living experience.

The design team, consisting of TUNG-HAO CHANG, YU-SHENG HSU, YU-TING TSAI, and RUO-SYUAN CHEN, collaborated to bring this design to life. Their expertise and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of the residence.

The Chinese Brush Flow residence offers a seamless and intuitive user experience. The use of marble materials in dark colors for surfaces such as coffee tables, bar counters, and dining tables not only adds a touch of luxury but also ensures easy maintenance. The Fibaro Living Home system is integrated into the space, allowing for convenient control of lighting, curtains, projectors, televisions, and other home appliances. The system can even prepare coffee based on the user's preferences.

This exceptional design project was completed in June 2010 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design team conducted extensive research to ensure the privacy and functionality of the space. The separations between public and private areas were carefully planned, and guest bathrooms were strategically placed to maintain a smooth flow of human traffic. The living room ceiling, adorned with rose gold titanium-plated boards, creates an elegant ambiance by reflecting light through the natural stone materials.

The Chinese Brush Flow design presented several challenges due to its material diversity and complexity. However, the designers successfully balanced the colors and textures within the space, utilizing the characteristics of the materials to their advantage. The curved linear designs and warm-colored stainless titanium-plated materials soften the sharp angles, while the light-colored ceiling serves as a focal point in the public areas. Dark-colored soft furniture adds visual highlights and extends the color palette into the private areas.

The Chinese Brush Flow design showcases the meticulous attention to detail and the creative use of stone materials. The marble block-jointed flooring in the entryway and dining room, along with the carefully selected stone materials, create an ornate atmosphere. The warm and grey marble stones, granites, and blue malachite, with their deep colors and unique patterns, add depth and visual interest to the space. The stainless titanium-plate accents outline the different areas and enhance the overall flow and cohesion of the design.
